HELPING PARENTS BE PROACTIVE ABOUT THEIR CHILD’S EMOTIONAL HEALTH

What is a Curious Neuron Parent?

A Curious Neuron Parent is confident, present, and curious. We approach a challenge like a scientist by observing, taking notes then testing things out to see what helps. All our programs at the Academy are created using scientific findings that matter to parents and help us create an environment that will help our children thrive.

“I am the mom of a twenty-month-old, and I cannot say enough about Cindy’s coaching (we needed help with playroom setup). Cindy is so knowledgeable, kind, patient, and helpful. A true joy to work with. No question is ever too much for her. The best part is her enthusiasm, despite this being very overwhelming for me, her excitement always made the task at hand fun. Not to mention, I’ve gained confidence in not only my playroom setup but also my ability to play with my daughter knowing I am benefiting her growth. I no longer feel guilty, understanding that boredom is also important for a child’s development! Small tweaks from Cindy have resulted in huge gains for us. For example, teaching me how to create novelty and simplicity in her toys. After following Cindy’s suggestions we saw major and quick changes. For example, by extending the baby’s play space to another room, she gained more ground to run and imagine. Another ex., by limiting the number of toy pieces out, the baby was more apt to attempt the puzzle or stack her blocks. I was so worried previously as the baby wasn’t stacking, such a simple change and she actually attempted the stacking without needing any prompting from me, yay!”

Meet our founder.

“Hi there! I’m Cindy! I have a doctorate degree in neuroscience and I am a mom of 3 (each 2 years apart). When I became a mom, I decided to leave my academic life and stay home. I quickly realized that the parenting knowledge I was applying from research studies wasn’t available to all parents. WHAT!!???

With a 1 month-old-infant sleeping on me and a 23 month old toddler, I launched the Curious Neuron blog. I knew I needed to get this info out there and as quickly as possible. That was in 2017 and as they say...the rest is history. Curious Neuron is not just a blog...it is a community of parents driven by curiosity and compassion that want their child to thrive.

Welcome to the Curious Neuron Family! ”
